Summary: | It is evident that absence of people centric
and sustainable rural development
planning poses a serious threat towards
ensuring human security. With this notion
as the focus, this paper examines how
human security issues are focused in the
development policies and programs in
rural Bangladesh, and how people’s
movement and local community initiatives
responded to the threats through
innovative approaches to human security
at the local and community level. It is
revealed from the civic opinion that, human
security has not been on the top of the
agenda of the Local Government in
Bangladesh. |
