Nadezhda Mandelstam

Nadezhda Yakovlevna Mandelstam (, ; []; 29 December 1980) was a Russian-Jewish writer, translator, educator, linguist, and memoirist.

She is the author of two memoirs about her life with her husband Osip Mandelstam and the repressive Stalinist regime they faced: ''Hope Against Hope'' (1970) and ''Hope Abandoned'' (1974), both first published in the West in English, translated by Max Hayward. Provided by Wikipedia
