Colonial narratives/cultural dialogues : discoveries of India in the language of colonialism /

Using Shakespeare as a case in point, the author shows how the study of English literature was implicated in the ideology of the empires in colonies such as India. In the modern post-independence era, the author argues that such literary studies continue to promote Western culture.
