To address the issues of poverty reduction Micro enterprises development programme have been initiated. The SME sector, estimated to be comprised of almost over 90% of all enterprises in the world, accounts for 50% to 60% of total employment and holds a major share of the industrial production and exports. Poverty reduction programme based on micro credit and micro enterprises have been attempted in many countries including India. This paper is an attempt to high light the progress of micro enterprises in India with special reference to SHG affiliated micro enterprises in Kerala and its impact on women empowerment. | ||
