Effective Mechanism run by the governing apparatus is essential in dealing with the natural disasters as it would help in reducing the impact of the crisis. From UN to local self-governing institutions much importance is been given to the notion of disaster management. This article attempts to evaluate the effectiveness of Central/State mechanisms in carrying out the rescue and relief operations during Kerala floods 2018 September which has created massive loss of human life and finance in the state.
