Richard Held

Richard Marx Held (October 10, 1922 – November 22, 2016) was an American professor (emeritus at the time of his death) of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He conducted some of the first research into visual perception of infants and children. He held a Civil Engineering degree from Columbia University, and earned a PhD in experimental psychology on auditory space perception from Harvard University. In 1973, Held was named to the National Academy of Sciences in recognition of his achievements in psychology. He was also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Provided by Wikipedia
