John Abbs

Abbs Memorial Church Rev. John Abbs (1810–1888) was an English missionary sent out to Southern India by the London Missionary Society. He spent 22 years in Travancore, a period rarely exceeded by European missionaries in India at that time. He was the husband of Louisa Sewell Abbs and the author of ''Twenty-Two Years' Missionary Experience in Travancore''. Christianity remains strong in the area where he worked. Provided by Wikipedia
